ABOUT NORTH EAST FUNCTIONAL HEALTH

Well done for taking action and being proactive in looking for answers to whatever the problem you may be suffering is. I have been there and I know that even within the industry it is very difficult to find someone that not only has an idea of what you are talking about and that will take you seriously but also has an idea of how to treat the problem successfully.

We offer customised treatment that identifies what you need to get you back on the road to recovery and empower you to take back control. This is not a “one size fits all” approach as everyone is different and so you too need to be treated as an individual. It is not a case of “you need to strengthen that” or “you need to cut out this food”. If that were true then you probably wouldn’t be here. This is why at North East Functional Health we adopt an inclusive approach and incorporate a number of different treatment modalities so that we have the best chance of reaching a successful outcome.

We are interested in how efficiently your nervous system is working – are your muscles behaving as they should? Are they able to switch on and off and do they have good control over the ranges of movement that they should? Or is your nervous system ramped up in response to an injury or other threat? Is your immune system in a heightened state? Is your hormonal system up and down and could this tie into what you are experiencing? Is your digestive system happy? Do you have any food intolerances or do you suffer from IBS, diarrhoea or constipation. How well do you move? And how well do you breathe? Lots of factors to consider.

Once we have gathered this information we form a plan of action and set about identifying underlying causes for the symptoms that you are experiencing. Once these areas have been identified we then formulate a treatment plan and action plan.

We work with a wide range of individual's with a wide range of conditions and symptoms. These range from sports people who are as interested in performance as they are in reducing the risk of injury, to individual's who have been in an accident and had pain ever since. People who have pain that no-one has ever been able to identify or explain to those who have chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. As well as individual's who have auto-immune conditions such as Type I diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease to individual's with rheumatoid arthritis or chronic constipation and poor sleep patterns.

If you would like to know more information on the range of conditions that we treat then please get in contact with us. Alternatively if you would like to arrange an appointment then please go to our online diary to book online or call us on 0191 640 3481.

We are happy to offer Skype or Zoom appointments to individuals who are contacting us with auto-immune conditions, ME, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, allergies, food intolerances, IBS and other digestive problems. We do not currently offer Skype appointments for individual’s whose primary complaint is physical pain as this requires in person treatment.
